Donations in lieu of gifts

EWM supports seriously ill children and local sports clubs

In lieu of Christmas gifts for its customers, EWM Hightec Welding will this year be making donations in aid of children and adolescents with cancer and other serious illnesses, and sponsoring local sports clubs. Germany’s largest manufacturer of highly innovative welding technologies will be supporting the charity “Unnauer Patenschaft” and the football, table tennis and tennis associations of its home town of Mündersbach. The company would like to help people in its native region, and sees this as a useful contribution.
The name “Unnauer Patenschaft” is familiar to many people in the Westerwald area. The charity works to support children and adolescents suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. Its aim is to improve conditions during the lengthy hospital stays the often complex therapies require, and to enable regular visits from parents. The charitable organisation also maintains two holiday homes offering the affected youths an environment in which they can recuperate.
In addition to contributing to this important institution, EWM also wishes to support local sports clubs in its home town, as they enrich the lives of local residents and offer opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment, according to the company. In its donations to FC Mündersbach, TTC 66 Mündersbach and TC Mündersbach, EWM’s main intention is again to provide opportunities for children and youths. Young people from all three clubs visited the EWM headquarters in order to personally thank the company for its donation and learn more about their sponsor.EWM, a globally operating company that maintains numerous branches in Germany as well as sites in Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and the United Arab Emirates, is highly committed to supporting the people living in the area around its headquarters. EWM’s management underlines its close ties with its employees; in some cases, several members of the same family work for the company. The company however also wishes to support those who have known EWM as a neighbour for many years.
